The production system’s diversification, due to the emergence of new high-tech enterprises from academic or corporate spin-offs, young researchers and technicians, is the requirement for a new wealth in the development of our economic system.
In advanced economic system like ours, the need for the diversification of the production system by creating new high tech firms, collides with the difficulty in raising the funds required to finance start-up enterprises and in giving scientific and economic value to new business ideas.
In order to overcome this lack, Galileo, in cooperation with Confindustria Padua, the University of Padua, and with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Padua, promoted BAN Veneto, a Business Angel Network: a meeting point for new entrepreneurs who have just started a high-tech start-up and investors interested in investing a part of their income in highly innovative business projects.
But BAN Veneto is much more: it is a real and virtual meeting place for those offering technology, even if they are not interested in becoming entrepreneurs, and those looking for technology to use in entrepreneurial activity.
The three promoters created a Temporary Business Association (TBA), which collects the nominations for the Business Angels, finds and screens the projects to fund, promotes meetings between aspiring entrepreneurs and investors, through its website www.banveneto.it and through meetings held in the University Incubator Start Cube. BAN Veneto is also a marketplace for innovative technologies provided by researchers to be transferred to already existing companies.
BAN Veneto complies with IBAN, the Italian Business Angel Network Association.
