MaTech is the Innovation and Materials Research Centre of Galileo Science and Technology Park in Padua.
The attention paid today to innovative materials and technologies is constantly growing: especially during periods of economic crisis, product innovation is a key factor to maintain market competitiveness. MaTech particularly exploits the opportunities offered by the technology transfer: materials and technologies that are already widely used in some sectors, become a source of innovation for other types of products. Applying already industrialized materials not only can avoid a lengthy and costly research process but also could help to drastically reduce the time needed to identify the material and its final application.
MaTech aims at supporting local enterprises in the research for product innovation in the short and medium period, through the use of innovative materials and technologies.
The methodology developed by MaTech on innovative materials and technology transfer can help enterprises responding to the need for incremental or architectural innovation, that is one of the most accessible approach to product innovation, especially for small and medium enterprises, because it doesn’t need too much time and expense and, above all, they are well-known.
MaTech is present in Italy with a national network of MaTech Points, with branches in Trieste, Venice, Vicenza, Bolzano, Novara, Modena and Florence
Internationally MaTech is a partner for technology transfer of Yet2.com (Boston, London and Tokyo) and of ITTC, University of Beijing.
